Delivering Accuracy and Performance in Africa

To the wonderful crew at Swift,

I thought I would let you know the bullets that Tony recommended for my rifle worked very well in Africa. I talked via phone and purchased some 375 bullets, but then after a pretty good conversation at SCI, and a purchase of a couple of boxes for testing in my 9.3x62 would make the journey as well. In fact, the 9.3 with 286’s shot so well I only took it. It performed very well. The first day we were in pursuit of Eland, but a monstrous waterbuck made an appearance and was swiftly dispatched. Distance was not far, and the animal didn’t make it far either. After that the Eland was pursued, and I was able to recover 3 bullets from it. It was well over 200 yards on all the shots. The first two were back quite a bit, but the third was a perfect heart shot. The bullets maintained weight, and even at that distance and slower speeds they mushroomed very well. I was very happy. I had 40 rounds with me of A-Frames, and 40 rounds of Nosler partitions to shoot smaller animals with, as I was afraid the Swifts might not mushroom on tiny things if I shot any. Needless to say after the first two animals the partitions never left the lodge. I decided very quickly to only use the Swifts, I absolutely love them. Eland, waterbuck, Nyala, Blue Wildebeest all fell during the 10-day trip. I had no hesitation pulling the trigger on anything with these bullets. Since getting back, I have tried to buy a few more boxes, so I don’t have to worry about ever not having them when Africa, or pretty much anything, comes calling! Yes, I plan on hunting whitetail, black bears, coyotes, you name it with my 9.3! Thanks for a great bullet.

Thanks,

Jeff Frye
