- Total devastation Review by Meat mule
- I have a 300 r.u.m. And use the 165s. I have shot 4 elk and 12 plus deer. From ranges from 7yards to 864 yards. The 7 yard shot was on a 211 inch Muley running straight towards me. The bullet lodged in the root of his tail. With a 74 percent weight retentention. I recovered a bullet from a shoulder shot elk at 736 yards and my bullet weighed 154 gr. now you tell me who makes a better bullet? As long as there is game to hunt, I will shoot them with my siroccos. (Posted on 1/6/12)

- I love this bullet and it all that i hunt with in my 300 RUM. Have taken a good amount of AK game with this setup. I have yet to recover a bullet, even had full length penetration on a Kodiak brown bear. (Posted on 10/16/11)

I have harvested black bear, caribou, and whitetail deer, wild boar with this round. I reload using H414 out of my rem 700 in .300wsm and have been able to get sub MOA groups consistantly with this bullet at about 2900fps MV.
The last animal I killed was a 350lb wild boar in south Texas. Shot was 85 yrds with the boar quartering slightly away. The bullet performed devistatingly! Shot was just behind the shoulder blade, through the armor plate, broke 2 ribs, blew out both lungs and the base of the heart, and lodged under the offside skin. Recovered perfect mushroom that weighed 158 grns for 87% weight retention. The boar dropped where he was standing and didn't move. I am very impressed with this bullet and will continue to use them for all dangerous game. (Posted on 9/17/10) - Awesome Review by Doc
- Loaded this bullet in the Remington 300 Ultra Mag. with 96.5 grains of H1000 with remington 9 1/2 M primers. Awesome bullet. Under 5 inch groups at 750 yards with my first batch. Flat shooting and with a little more tweaking I am hoping for <4 inch groups. I compared same loads with interbond, SST, and ballistic tips on the same day and unbelievable difference that the bullet makes. (Posted on 5/8/10)
- Truly a Bullet Without Equal Review by One Shot One Kill

Remington Premier 300 Winchester magnum ammunition with a 180-grain Swift Scirocco bullet has excellent external and terminal ballistics. I was having a problem losing deer with several brands of ammunition. Given my shots can be as close as 20 yards and out to 200 yards, I needed a bullet that had excellent external and terminal ballistics over a wide range. I have used this ammunition for the past two deer seasons and want to thank Remington for suggesting this ammunition to me.
I also want to thank Swift for their excellent support. After Remington suggested this ammunition, I contacted Swift and told them that I needed a bullet that could hold together a close range (20 yards) and still be lethal at (200 yards). They told me this bullet would perform under these conditions and they were correct.
This ammunition performs very well in both of my 300 Winchester magnum Remington Sendero SFII. Using Remington Premier Match ammunition with a 190-grain Sierra Match King, my average 3-shot group size is about 1.2” at 100 yards under actual hunting conditions (only a bipod). My average 3-shot group size is about 1.4” at 100 yards under actual hunting conditions (only a bipod) using Remington Premier 180-grain Scirocco ammunition. The ballistic coefficient for the 180-grain Scirocco bullet is 0.521, which is just 0.012 lower than the 190-grain Match King.
I have harvested all 8 deer that I shot the past 2 hunting seasons using this ammunition. I have shot deer as close as 25 yards and as far as 170 yards. Three of the deer dropped dead where they stood. The other 5 traveled a short distance and were easy to track due to an excellent blood trail from the wound. All bullets passed through the deer and created a very lethal wound channel. I did not recover a bullet from any of the deer.
The bullet’s terminal ballistics are truly outstanding and speak clearly to the effectiveness of this bullet. I will share with you the terminal ballistics from an 8-point buck that I shot at 80 yards. The entry wound in the hide is about the size of the bullet. The wound hole is an awesome 2”x 2” on the exterior side of the ribs. The damage to the ribs is like a funnel. The interior side of the ribs had a wound hole that was about 4”x 2”. In other words, a significant amount of bone had become shrapnel, which provided additional damages to the lungs. The surrounding tissue was damaged significantly and I was able to insert my fist (size 8 ½ hand) into the wound channel made in the ribs The exit wound had a similar size hole. In summary, the physically large wound channel (much larger than the entry hole), and rib bone shrapnel, caused this buck to drop immediately.
I thought it would be useful to compare the approximate area of the wound hole to the area of the bullet for the terminal ballistics of the buck described in the previous paragraph. The hole in the hide is about 1.5 times greater than the bullet area. The entry wound channel area in ribs on the exterior side is about 13 times greater than the bullet area, and on the interior side of the ribs it is about 23 times greater than the bullet area. Now, that is significant damage!
I highly recommend this ammunition to you. I absolutely feel the Scirocco bullet is the best hunting bullet that I have used. Swift can help you if you are interested in loading your own ammunition. I feel confident that if you try this ammunition you will be very satisfied. I know my search for a perfect hunting bullet has ended!

I started reloading 10 years ago and your 180 grain scirocco is the best bullet I have ever used. It out performs all the hornady and seirra bullets I have tried. it is devastating on targets at and beyond 800 yards. This is the only bullet I recommend. I am headed to Africa next may and i have no doubt that your bullet will do it job there to.
Thank you for the best bullets. (Posted on 1/7/10) - Perfect on 2 mulies and 1 elk Review by David Smith
- This bullet has worked perfectly for me so far in my .300 Win mag. Three shot groups consistently go under 1 MOA at 200 yards, which is about as well as I can hold. Retained weight (all found under the hide on the off side) has been in the 85 to 95 percent range. As far as I am concerned this bullet and my rifle are married, forever! (Posted on 10/19/09)

- You will not find a better .30 Caliber 180 grain bullet. Best ballistic coefficient keeps velocity and energy out to long range. One awesome bullet!! (Posted on 2/15/09)
- 180 GRN Scirocco Review by Runyonmp
- Simply put, The BEST hunting bullet made. I have used these bullets on Brown Bear/Grizlzly bear, Moose, Caribou and Wolf. Grizzly Living in Fairbanks Alaska I have an opportunity to hunt a lot. I have been a reloader for 20+ years I liked and reloaded the original Scirocco bullets but the Scirocco II are just as lethal with more weight retention. I have vintage boxes of Noslers, Fail Safes, Remington, Speer, Sierras the list goes on. You just cant beat the accuracy, quality and value of the Swift Scirocco II (Posted on 1/17/09)
